Dogs Are Man's Best Friend

The advantages of having a dog are endless. Dogs have grown to be a part of our family and the core of our existence as people without children. Selecting the ideal dog for your lifestyle can be difficult. These beloved members of numerous families could make people happier, more independent, and possibly even live longer. The company a dog offers has a relaxing effect on the owner's life. Finding a dog that best fits your lifestyle is the key to solving this problem.


Dogs are thought to have descended from wolves in the wild. They were the first untamable wild animal. Most likely, early man carried home wolf cubs to keep as pets. Additionally helpful in chasing off bears and other wild animals were the pet wolves. The Salukis, which were developed by the Egyptians thousands of years ago as hunting dogs, are one of the oldest breeds of dogs still in existence. Dalmatians and greyhounds are among the oldest breeds known to exist.


Dogs have been useful in a variety of ways throughout history. Dogs assisted in carrying heavy goods, herding sheep and cattle, and protecting their master and his or her property. Small lap dogs were created by the Ancient Greeks to be held in a woman's lap and keep her stomach warm. Bulldogs were created with large jaws and small noses so they could cling onto a bull's throat while still breathing. Dogs have been trained as seeing-eye dogs for the blind in more recent years. Additionally, dogs have been used by law enforcement to search for bombs and drugs.


Many dogs today, such the Poodle and Chihuahua, don't look anything like wolves. Other canines, like the Siberian Husky and the German Shepherd, nonetheless resemble wolves quite a bit. From the short-haired Beagle and Boston Terrier to the long-haired Cockers and Scotties, there are numerous breeds of dogs in use today. While Setters or Collies may feel more at home in the country, the Beagle may do better in the city. Great Danes and Irish Wolfhounds are the tallest breeds of canine. They would definitely feel more at ease in an area with lots of space to run around and play.

The physical development of a dog at age one is comparable to that of a human at age fifteen. Dogs are regarded as colour blind since they can see some colours, but not as clearly as people. However, dogs have significantly better night vision than humans do. Dogs also outperform us when it comes to smell. They have a sense of smell that is a million times stronger than ours!
